Maintenance Fitter- Night Shift

Workforce Extensions Geelong is currently seeking an experienced Maintenance Fitter to join the night shift maintenance team of a large and well-established manufacturing business based in Corio.

This is not simply a short-term shutdown or project role. We are looking for someone interested in consistent, ongoing work, with the opportunity to transition into permanent employment with the host employer following a successful labour hire period.

Operating within a highly automated manufacturing environment, you'll work alongside an established maintenance team responsible for keeping a busy production facility operating safely and efficiently.

About the Role

As a Maintenance Fitter, you'll be involved in both planned and reactive maintenance across a broad range of plant and automated manufacturing equipment.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Preventative and scheduled maintenance
• Responding to breakdowns and production issues
• Mechanical fault finding and repairs
• Maintenance of CNC and automated machinery
• Working with conveyors and robotic equipment
• Hydraulic and pneumatic fault finding and repairs
• General mechanical maintenance
• Welding and fabrication where required
• Supporting equipment upgrades and improvement projects
• Working closely with electrical and production personnel
• Identifying opportunities to improve equipment reliability and performance

This is a hands-on maintenance position suited to someone who enjoys fault finding and wants exposure to more than repetitive servicing work.

About You

We're looking for a trade-qualified Mechanical Fitter who can bring a strong mechanical skillset to the maintenance team.

Ideally, you'll have:

• Certificate III in Engineering - Mechanical Trade (Essential)
• Experience as a Mechanical/Maintenance Fitter within manufacturing, processing or another industrial environment
• Strong mechanical fault-finding ability
• Experience with hydraulics and pneumatics
• Confidence working around automated production machinery
• Welding and fabrication skills
• A strong understanding of workplace safety
• The ability to work effectively within a maintenance team
• A reliable and practical approach to work

Experience with CNC equipment, robotics, conveyors or CMMS maintenance systems will be highly regarded but isn't essential across every area.
