Peter is an advocate for small business which can be seen from his history as a business owner. With a background in engineering, Peter has held roles such as Business Development Manager and Bid Manager for civil construction and property companies. This led to him establishing his own consultancy company, acquiring a civil engineering practice, and later acquiring Workforce Extensions. Peter brings his commercial capability and strategic insight to the network and is a great mentor for those starting their own business.
Nigel Ashton
Director
Nigel is a business owner and investor with a diverse portfolio of interests including commercial property, healthcare, bio-energy, early stage tech innovation and labour hire. He spent 13 years working in banking and finance roles in London and New York and a further 10 years working in Australia as a Director and investor. Underpinned by a Master's degree in Information Technology, Nigel ensures that the Workforce Extensions tech, IT, systems and compliance offering benefits the network and their customers.
Shane Stafford
Chief Operations Officer
Shane possesses senior management and leadership experience through an extensive career in maintenance, engineering and manufacturing sectors for companies including Komatsu Australia, Boom Logistics, Readi and Drivetrain Australia. One of Shane's key roles at Boom Logistics was to start-up and lead a recruitment and labour hire company (Readi) in 2016 which was generating ~$27M/annum in revenue within 3 years of operations. Shane's ability to develop and execute strategy, people leadership and drive value for customers will ensure Workforce Extensions delivers on its strategy.
Lucy McTiernan
IT and Projects Manager
Lucy has worked with Workforce Extensions since 2008 and her energies are focused on delivering key projects to better enhance the recruitment and labour hire services provided by the network. Lucy has an intimate knowledge of systems, processes and service offering after having spent time working in all aspects of the business. Lucy is currently focused on overseeing the IT team in their provisions of application support whilst managing the technology roadmap. Lucy is currently studying for her Masters, focusing on systems implementation and utilisation.
Damien Leonard
Senior Finance Manager
Damien has a strong background in financial management with previous roles with the Programmed Group in the Industrial Maintenance division as National Finance Manager. In his time at Programmed, he has progressed through several roles as the business has grown and expanded. Running a finance team which includes payroll, AR, AP, Financial Accountants and Management Accountants, Damien’s experience in leadership and financial management, will greatly support our business as we build out our national network of professional owner-operators in labour hire and recruitment.
Nick Mann
Commercial Manager
Nick is an experienced professional who manages the commercial portfolio, with particular focus on risk and compliance. Nick's career started in Chartered Accounting, working in Australia and the UK in corporate advisory, restructuring and recovery, before gaining extensive experience in franchising and credit risk during his time with Caltex (now Ampol). He is an advocate for small businesses and brings a unique analytical and commercial outlook into the business.
Andrea Briggs
Franchise Development Manager
Andrea has a solid background in the recruitment industry including 5 years running her own recruitment agency and 12 years in franchise recruitment supporting a network of recruitment offices. Andrea’s strength’s include sales & business development and ensuring new franchisees coming into the network are supported as they build their business.
Joe Kong
IT Systems Manager
Joe is a passionate IT and workforce management professional who brings deep experience in implementing and delivering solutions which enable businesses to achieve outcomes through technology. With 16 years of staffing and recruitment experience, Joe has worked with over 100+ labour hire and recruitment firms across Australia and NZ. Joe plays a key role in formulating and executing Workforce Extensions’ IT strategy and leads the delivery of strategic initiatives to create a tech-enabled business, build unique talent solutions leveraging business process improvement and accelerate Workforce Extensions’ growth through innovation.
Robert Williams
Credit Analyst
Robert has over 40 years’ experience within banking, liquidations, credit insurance, debt recovery and franchising which he gained whilst working in senior roles with some of Australia’s iconic companies. Robert’s role of Credit Analyst provides support to the Commercial Team with a particular focus on process improvement surrounding credit assessment, risk management, minimisation and recovery.
