About the Role

Workforce Extensions Ballarat is proud to be recruiting on behalf of Advanced Cranes, a leading name in lifting and rigging solutions across Victoria and beyond.

We're seeking an experienced and dependable Senior Payroll Officer to join their supportive, fast paced team.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives on accuracy, autonomy and taking ownership of high volume, end to end payroll operations.

Based at either Ballarat (Wendouree) or Derrimut, you'll manage the weekly payroll for more than 200 employees across multiple sites and rosters, keeping Australia's biggest infrastructure projects moving behind the scenes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage high volume, full function weekly payroll for 200+ staff across multiple sites and rosters
  • Interpret EBAs, awards and Fair Work requirements
  • Process PAYG, superannuation, payroll tax and EOFY compliance
  • Maintain accurate employee data and process starters, leavers and variations
  • Reconcile payroll accounts and provide regular reporting to finance
  • Respond to payroll and entitlement queries with clarity and professionalism
  • Support improvements to payroll systems and processes as the business continues to grow

What You'll Need

  • Minimum 3 years' experience in an end to end, high volume payroll role
  • Sound knowledge of Australian payroll legislation and STP
  • Experience with LeavePlus and Incolink highly regarded
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong system/Excel skills
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating across teams
  • Strong communication, confidentiality and problem solving skills
  • Experience in construction, civil or similar industrial environments preferred
