With the busy spring and summer event season approaching, Workforce Extensions Geelong, in partnership with Geelong Coastal Hire, are looking to build a strong team of reliable, hard-working people across a variety of event, construction, transport and depot-based roles.
We are not recruiting for just one position. We want to hear from labourers, installers, yard workers, forklift operators and truck drivers who are looking for casual work, additional hours, or the opportunity to turn seasonal work into something longer term. For many positions, previous industry experience isn't essential. What matters most is that you're reliable, physically capable, prepared to work hard and happy to get your hands dirty.
The Opportunities
Depending on your experience, licences and availability, opportunities may include:
Some positions will initially be offered on a casual basis, with hours increasing considerably during busy event periods. There may also be opportunities for ongoing, high-hour or permanent employment for people who perform well and demonstrate reliability.
Event & Installation Work
A large part of the upcoming workload will involve supporting events, construction sites and infrastructure projects throughout Geelong and surrounding areas. This is genuine hands-on work and may involve:
The work can be physically demanding, and you'll spend considerable time outdoors. We're looking for people who are comfortable lifting, carrying, walking, and remaining active throughout a shift. Hours can vary depending on the project or event. During the peak summer period, there may be opportunities to pick up significant hours, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends.
Drivers & Licensed Operators
We are particularly interested in hearing from candidates who hold additional licences or tickets.

Drivers won't necessarily spend the entire day behind the wheel. Many roles involve a combination of driving, deliveries, loading/unloading and assisting crews with equipment installation on site. We're therefore looking for drivers who are happy to jump out of the truck and get involved with the team.
Depot & Wash Bay Opportunities
Not all opportunities are site-based. We will also require people to support operations from the Corio depot. This can include:
We will also require a Wash Bay Attendant to assist with the cleaning and restoration of returned equipment, including used portable toilets. We'll be upfront: this isn't going to suit everybody. Appropriate PPE and cleaning equipment will be provided, but we're looking for someone who isn't easily put off by dirty equipment, unpleasant smells or messy work. For the right person, it provides consistent hands-on work as an important part of the depot team.

A Working with Children Check (WWCC) is also highly regarded, particularly given the variety of locations and events the crews may attend. Additional licences including LF, HR, HC and CV will significantly broaden the types of work we may be able to offer you.
