Fabrication Supervisor

Workforce Extensions Geelong is proud to be partnering with Furphy Engineering to recruit a Fabrication Supervisor for their Corio manufacturing facility.

This is an outstanding opportunity to join one of Australia's most recognised manufacturing brands in a hands-on leadership role where you'll play a key part in keeping fabrication operations running efficiently, safely and productively.

Reporting directly to the Fabrication Manager, you'll be responsible for coordinating daily fabrication activities, allocating work, ensuring materials are available to production teams, maintaining inventory accuracy and supporting a positive safety culture across the workshop.

This is a leadership role that remains close to the action. You'll spend time on the workshop floor, working closely with the fabrication team, operating forklifts, coordinating workloads and ensuring production targets are achieved.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and support fabrication personnel during daily operations
• Coordinate and allocate work to fabrication teams
• Ensure jobs are prepared, prioritised and ready for production
• Pick, pack and stage materials for fabrication activities
• Operate forklifts safely and efficiently
• Monitor workflow and address production bottlenecks
• Liaise with production, scheduling and logistics teams
• Maintain inventory accuracy and stock control processes
• Ensure compliance with safety procedures and company standards
• Provide feedback on team performance and production outcomes
• Assist in driving continuous improvement initiatives across the workshop

About You

We're interested in speaking with candidates who have experience in fabrication, steel manufacturing, engineering, heavy industry or similar production environments.

You may be an experienced Supervisor, Team Leader, Leading Hand or a highly capable fabrication professional ready to take the next step in your career.

To be successful, you'll ideally possess:

• Previous experience within fabrication, steel processing, manufacturing or engineering environments
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• A hands-on approach with the ability to lead from the front
• Forklift Licence (essential)
• Ability to coordinate workloads and maintain production flow
• Strong organisational and problem-solving skills
• Commitment to workplace health and safety
• Ability to work effectively within a fast-paced production environment

Desirable Qualifications & Experience

• Previous supervisory or team leadership experience
• Dogman Ticket
• EWP Licence
• First Aid Qualification
• Exposure to Lean Manufacturing principles
• Understanding of fabrication processes and workshop operations
