Operating from their Geelong site, Furphy provides durable hot-dip galvanising and advanced industrial paint finishes, including their innovative Duplex coating system, delivering long-term corrosion resistance and performance.

About the Roles

Workforce Extensions Geelong are currently partnering with Furphy & Sons to recruit multiple experienced workers across the site, including:

• Industrial Blasters
• Industrial Painters
• Forklift Operators

These roles suit hands-on candidates with experience in industrial environments who are safety-focused, reliable, and willing to work across different areas of the operation as required.

Key Responsibilities

Duties will vary depending on experience and role, and may include:

Blasting & Surface Preparation

• Abrasive blasting to remove rust, paint, scale, and contaminants
• Operating blasting equipment and adjusting settings as required
• Ensuring surfaces are correctly prepared and profiled for coating
• Conducting post-blast inspections and rectifying defects
• Adhering to PPE, ventilation, and safety procedures

Industrial Painting

• Preparing and mixing coatings to manufacturer specifications
• Applying coatings via spray, brush, or roller
• Monitoring coating thickness, coverage, drying, and curing times
• Conducting visual quality checks and touch-ups

Forklift & Yard Operations

• Safe operation of forklifts to move steel products and materials
• Loading and unloading trucks
• Assisting with production flow and site logistics
• General Duties
• Supporting continuous production across departments
• Working closely with supervisors and production teams
• Complying with all site safety and industry regulations
• Performing additional tasks as required

About You

We are seeking candidates who can demonstrate:

• Experience in industrial blasting, industrial painting, or forklift operation
• Strong attention to detail and quality standards
• Good physical fitness and ability to work in an industrial environment
• A strong commitment to workplace safety

Tickets and licences are highly regarded, including:

• Forklift Licence
• Dogman
• Confined Spaces
• White Card
• Level 2 First Aid
