Workforce Extensions | Scoresby's client require Machine Operators in Melbourne's Eastern Suburbs of Bayswater.

Position Description: Brake Press Operator/Folding ,Turret and other Engineering machine operating.

Position Purpose: The Brake Press Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of brake press machinery to bend, shape, and form metal components to precise specifications. This role plays a vital part in the production process, ensuring high-quality outcomes that meet client and project requirements. Key Responsibilities: Set up and operate CNC and/or manual brake press machines. Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and work orders to determine job specifications. Perform accurate measurements and quality checks using calipers, gauges, and other precision tools. Adjust machine settings and tooling to accommodate different materials and job requirements. Ensure components are formed to correct dimensions and tolerances. Identify and troubleshoot minor machine faults or defects. Maintain a clean and safe work environment in accordance with WHS regulations. Record production data and complete relevant job documentation. Work collaboratively with other team members in the fabrication and assembly departments. Perform routine maintenance and report any major issues to maintenance personnel.

Skills and Experience:

Essential:

  • Proven experience operating a brake press machine (manual or CNC).
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Good understanding of workplace health and safety practices.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.

Desirable:

  • Experience working in a metal fabrication or manufacturing environment.
  • Forklift licence (LF) or overhead crane licence.
  • Familiarity with other workshop machinery (e.g. guillotine, punch press, laser cutter).
  • Certificate III in Engineering - Fabrication Trade (or equivalent experience).

Working Conditions:

Workshop, Production & Manufacturing -based environment. Use of PPE is mandatory (e.g. safety boots, gloves, eye protection).
