Maintenance Fitters

On behalf of Ferndale Foods Australia, we are seeking two experienced and motivated Maintenance Fitters to join their team on a full time, permanent basis at their modern Delacombe facility. This is a genuine opportunity to secure long term stability while working in a high performing environment with strong investment in people and technology.

About the role

These are critical positions within the business, playing a key role in ensuring the safe, efficient and cost effective operation of manufacturing across the site.

You will be responsible for maintaining and improving equipment performance through a mix of reactive and preventative maintenance, while also contributing to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance reliability, safety and output.

Key responsibilities

  • Fault finding, breakdown response and repair of production equipment
  • Performing scheduled preventative maintenance as part of the PMP
  • Supporting and improving line changeovers
  • Identifying and implementing continuous improvement initiatives
  • Assisting with spare parts management to minimise downtime
  • Contributing to projects and equipment upgrades
  • Developing and improving SOPs to support operational efficiency
  • Supporting GMP standards, housekeeping and audit requirements
  • Working collaboratively with production teams to improve systems and processes

About you

  • Trade qualified Fitter and Turner, Mechanical Tradesperson or similar
  • Experience in manufacturing environments, ideally food or FMCG
  • Strong troubleshooting ability with a proactive, solutions focused mindset
  • Experience with automation and high speed production equipment
  • Commitment to safety and quality standards
  • Ability to work autonomously and manage competing priorities
  • Strong communication skills and a team focused approach
  • Forklift licence and electrical disconnect reconnect highly regarded
  • Experience with pneumatics and sensor technology advantageous
