PPT is one of Ballarat's most established and respected accounting and financial services firms, known for its technical expertise, personalised advice and long standing client relationships across the region.

An opportunity now exists for an experienced accounting professional to join the team in a role that offers far more than day to day compliance work. This is a long term career opportunity for someone who wants to play a key leadership role within the business and, in time ideally progress toward Partner level within the firm.

About the Role

As a Manager / Senior Manager you will take ownership of a diverse client portfolio while playing a key role in mentoring staff, supporting business growth and contributing to the strategic direction of the firm.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing and reviewing financial statements and tax returns for companies, trusts, partnerships and individuals
  • Managing BAS, IAS, FBT and payroll tax obligations
  • Providing proactive business and tax advisory services
  • Reviewing work and mentoring junior team members
  • Building strong, long term client relationships
  • Supporting workflow management and team development
  • Working across a broad client base including agriculture, trades, medical, hospitality, retail and professional services

About You

You are an experienced public practice accountant who is ready to step into a leadership role and is motivated by the opportunity to grow into a future ownership position over time.

You will bring:

  • Strong experience in public practice accounting
  • Solid technical knowledge of Australian taxation
  • Degree qualifications with CPA or CA completed
  • The ability to build and manage client relationships with confidence
  • Leadership capability and experience mentoring staff
  • Strong communication and advisory skills
  • Experience with Xero, MYOB, FYI Docs or similar systems
  • A long term mindset and genuine interest in progressing your career within a Ballarat based firm
