Workforce Extensions Ballarat is currently seeking a motivated, polished and professional Legal Receptionist on behalf of Curwen-Walker Lawyers.
With a strong connection to the Ballarat community dating back to the gold rush era, Curwen-Walker Lawyers is one of Ballarat's longest established law firms. They are a modern and progressive practice focused on delivering professional, client-centred legal services with a strong emphasis on Family Law and Wills & Estates.

About the Role
This is a part-time position working school-friendly hours, Monday to Friday, 9:00am - 3:00pm, based in Ballarat.
The role would ideally suit someone with strong experience working within a legal office or other professional services environment who understands the importance of professionalism, confidentiality and client care.
The successful applicant will be highly organised, confident managing multiple tasks, and capable of working in a fast-paced office environment while maintaining a warm and professional manner with clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Answering and directing phone calls and taking accurate messages
- Managing incoming emails and correspondence
- Diary and appointment management
- Welcoming clients and maintaining a professional front reception area
- Preparing meeting rooms and maintaining office presentation standards
- Collecting and lodging Australia Post mail morning and afternoon
- Ordering office and kitchen supplies and maintaining shared office spaces
- Archiving files and documents
- Processing completed Will and Power of Attorney documents and conducting follow-up communication
- Assisting solicitors and paralegals with administrative tasks including document preparation, scanning, copying, printing, VOI appointments, and general office support
Skills & Experience
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Previous reception or administration experience within a legal firm or other professional services environment highly regarded
- Strong understanding of professional office procedures and client confidentiality
- Excellent Microsoft Office skills
- Strong time management and multitasking abilities
- High attention to detail and organisational skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- A professional presentation and friendly, client-focused manner
- The ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team
- A high level of reliability, initiative, discretion, and professionalism
