Procurement Lead

About the Role
Workforce Extensions Ballarat is proud to be recruiting on behalf of our client, GTE Technology, for a motivated and experienced Procurement Lead to manage sourcing, purchasing and inventory activities at their Ballarat facility. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a well established and innovative manufacturing business delivering turnkey solutions to the seed, feed and food processing industries.

The successful candidate will be responsible for end to end procurement operations, including vendor negotiations, inventory oversight and supply chain coordination. Working closely with the broader GTE team, this role will help ensure the timely and cost effective delivery of equipment, materials and general stock that supports both daily operations and large scale projects.

Key Responsibilities
* Lead procurement activities for equipment, goods and services in line with company objectives
* Negotiate with suppliers to secure cost effective pricing, favourable contract terms and timely delivery
* Coordinate purchasing across multiple spend categories, excluding construction and data processing contracts
* Develop and implement procurement policies, procedures and inventory control systems
* Prepare and issue purchase orders, requisitions and supplier agreements
* Monitor supplier performance and resolve any order, delivery or quality issues
* Maintain accurate inventory records and manage general stores and supplies
* Analyse cost, stock levels and lead times to support planning and reporting
* Collaborate with internal teams across engineering, production and finance to align purchasing strategies with operational needs
* Support ERP system optimisation to improve procurement tracking and costing

About You
We are looking for a detail focused and results driven professional with a strong background in procurement, inventory or supply chain roles.

You will bring:
* Solid experience in purchasing or procurement coordination within a manufacturing, engineering or industrial environment
* Understanding of supply, inventory and stores management practices
* Familiarity with vendor management and sourcing systems such as MYOB AccountRight
* Advanced Excel skills and confidence working with purchasing data
* Strong communication, negotiation and relationship management abilities
* Excellent judgement and problem solving skills
* A proactive, team-oriented approach with a focus on continuous improvement
* A current driver's licence

Desirable
* Experience in machinery or mechanical production
* Qualifications in Procurement, Business or a related discipline
