On behalf of Ferndale Foods we at Workforce Extensions are now looking for a passionate and detail-driven Site Quality and Food Safety Officer to join their team and ensure their high standards are upheld across every stage of production.
Your Impact:
As the Site Quality and Food Safety Officer, you will report to the Product Manager and play a critical role in maintaining and enhancing the quality assurance systems at one of their manufacturing sites. You'll ensure compliance with industry certifications, drive continuous improvement, and foster a positive food safety culture throughout the business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and manage GFSI and other key certifications (SQF, HACCP, Woolworths, CFSMR, Aldi, Costco, etc.)
- Prepare for and represent the site in external audits
- Lead GMP activities and HACCP verification & validation
- Oversee cleaning, sanitation, and product testing on-site
- Drive First Time Quality initiatives and continuous improvement projects
- Ensure all products meet required specifications
- Conduct internal audits, traceability exercises, and recall activities
- Lead quality investigations with effective root cause analysis and corrective action follow-up
- Facilitate staff training on food safety and HACCP systems
- Collaborate closely with site managers and floor staff to elevate quality standards
What You'll Bring:
- Tertiary qualification in Food Science, Engineering, or a related field
- 3+ years' experience in a Quality Systems role within food manufacturing
- Strong leadership, interpersonal, and influencing skills
- Excellent time management with the ability to juggle multiple priorities
- A proactive, hands-on approach and a collaborative mindset
- Flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends as needed
Standard Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 4:30pm
