Our client, experts in the permanent modular building industry, are currently looking for EXPERIENCED STEEL FIXERS to join their busy precast panel yard located in the South Eastern suburbs of Melbourne.

This role will require you to work in a covered/undercover factory-based environment assisting in the manufacture of prefabricated buildings for residential use across Australia.

You'll be part of a reliable team helping to deliver a high-quality product in a clean and well-organised facility.

THE ROLE:

  • Skilled STEEL FIXERS with solid experience in precast panel yards required for the manufacture of prefabricated buildings/homes
  • Factory environment, based in Dandenong South
  • Hours: Monday to Friday (7am to 3.30pm)
  • Ongoing casual work, with a view to permanent employment in the future (based on performance)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ability to read & interpret technical plans/drawings
  • Install and secure steel reinforcement (eg. rebar, mesh) into precast concrete moulds as per engineer drawings
  • Cut, bend, and tie steel bars to form reinforcement cages/frames
  • Assist in the preparation and setup of formwork and moulds
  • Conduct final inspections before concrete pours
  • Ensure all work complies with safety, quality, and timeline requirements
  • Operate steel fixing tools and machinery as required
  • Work in a small team

THE CANDIDATE:

To be successful in this role, you must meet the following criteria:

  • Precast panel yard experience is essential
  • Minimum 2 yearsof steel fixing experience in precast yard/environments
  • Valid White / Red Card
  • Drivers Licence & own reliable transport
  • Reliable & punctual with good attention to detail
  • Strong work ethic & great attitude
  • Great communication skills
  • Physically fit & safety focussed
  • Comply with company WHS policies & procedure
  • Full PPE & appropriate tools (steel fixing tools including wire reels, bolt cutters & pliers or willing to obtain)
  • Ability to work unsupervised and as part of a team
  • Positive attitude & flexibility with work hours

CASUAL work but could become ongoing.

In order to work, all applicants must have their own PPE (steel capped boots, hard hat, safety glasses, working gloves, hi-viz clothing), reliable transport and a White/Red Card.
