Welder

Workforce Extensions | Scoresby's client require Welders in Melbourne's Eastern Suburbs of Bayswater. They are seeking a skilled Stainless Steel welder & Fabricator to join its production team on an ongoing basis. The role requires a high level of technical skill in stainless steel welding,& fabrication.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Interpret and work from engineering drawings and technical documentation.
• Perform welding of stainless steel to achieve clean, contamination-free welds in accordance with industry standards.
• Undertake welding, including fabrication and welding of stainless steel products.
• Welding experience of Aluminium & Steel would be advantageous.
• Apply appropriate welding techniques and sequences to minimise distortion and ensure structural integrity.
• Cut, prepare, drill, tap, fold, and assemble stainless steel materials using appropriate machinery and tools where required.
• Follow internal quality assurance (QA) procedures, identifying and rectifying defects or non-conformances.
• Use press brakes and folding equipment correctly, selecting suitable dies and punches for material thickness.
• Carry out polishing and finishing processes to achieve required hygienic and aesthetic standards.
• Comply with all workplace health and safety (WHS) requirements.
• Maintain tools and equipment in safe working condition.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Certificate IV in Engineering (Fabrication Trade) or equivalent, or substantial relevant experience (minimum 3 years) in lieu of formal qualification.
• Demonstrated experience in stainless steel welding.
• Ability to work independently from drawings and specifications.

Licences and Tickets (Required or Advantageous):

• Trade papers.
• Current Driver's Licence.
• Forklift Licence.
• Own basic hand tools.
