Welder / Fabricator

We're recruiting on behalf of a well-established manufacturer in the door and entrance systems industry, based in Bangholme. They're after an experienced Welder/Fabricator to join their production team on a full-time, ongoing basis.

About the role

You'll be hands-on in the manufacture and assembly of roller shutters and other door types, working from detail sheets and under the direction of the Production Manager and leading hands. It's a varied role on the floor - welding, assembling, operating workshop machinery, and helping keep things running smoothly day to day.

What you'll be doing

• Manufacturing and assembling roller shutters and other door products to spec
• MIG welding drums, brackets and guides (light and heavy gauge steelwork)
• General assembly of finished goods
• Locating, pulling and verifying materials against production orders
• Loading/unloading vehicles and trucks, and general goods handling
• Operating hand tools and powered tools (drills, grinders, sanders, routers, etc.)
• Operating or assisting with other workshop machinery
• Basic daily/weekly maintenance on workshop equipment
• Keeping your work area clean and safe
• Following quality control procedures and hitting quality standards
• Mentoring less experienced staff on standard manufacturing procedures

What you'll bring

• A Trade Certificate (essential)
• Solid MIG welding and general steelwork experience - light or heavy gauge
• Manufacturing/fabrication experience is highly regarded
• A safety-first mindset and willingness to follow WHS procedures
• Reliability and a strong work ethic - this is a hands-on, physical role

The role at a glance

• Location: Dandenong South, VIC
• Hours: Full time, 38 hours/week, Monday to Friday
• Reports to: Production Manager
