We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled individual to join the team as a Workshop Manager at J Anderson & Co. This could also be a unique opportunity for a dedicated mechanical tradesperson looking to take the next step in their career and transition into a management role.

Key Responsibilities:

As the Workshop Manager, you will play a pivotal role in the overall success of our machining operations. Key responsibilities include:

Team Leadership: Lead and inspire a team of machinists, providing guidance and support to ensure the efficient and effective operation of the workshop.

Workflow Management: Oversee the production schedule, prioritize work orders, and allocate resources to meet production targets.

Training and Development: Foster the growth and development of the machinist team, identifying opportunities for skill enhancement and advancement.

Quality Assurance: Maintain a commitment to high-quality standards, implementing and enforcing quality control processes throughout the machining process.

Communication: Facilitate clear and open communication within the workshop and across departments, ensuring a collaborative and productive work environment.

Problem Solving: Utilize your machining expertise to troubleshoot and address technical challenges, working closely with the team to find effective solutions.

Qualifications:

Engineering Experience: A background as a Machinist, Fitter, Engineer, Mechanical Tradesperson with a minimum of 4 years of hands-on experience in machining or related fields.

Leadership Aspirations: Demonstrated interest in moving into a leadership role, with a passion for guiding and developing a team.

Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey technical information to both team members and management.

Organizational Skills: Proven ability to organize and prioritize tasks, manage workflow, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Problem-Solving Abilities: A proactive approach to identifying and solving challenges, with a focus on continuous improvement.

Team Collaboration: Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve overall business objectives.
